My first try at using a pick up stick to create floats.  (And a huge 32″ stick is quite the thing to have to deal with).

Now I am more than halfway finished.  It is supposed to be a table runner.  I am not even sure these colors will integrate into my decorating plan for the new house.  I can always put it in my studio, though.
